Trauma Therapy
Survivors of trauma need a specialized kind of care. An attuned, flexible, and safe provider is essential when processing trauma. I work well with people who have weathered life's storms and are now seeking to make meaning of these hard events. When we power through for too long without help, we may seek to loosen the grip that the past has on us. Trauma therapy can help you feel connected again.

Trauma Approach
There are many effective trauma modalities out there. I use EMDR and Ego- State interventions as primary modalities. As with any therapy, the therapeutic relationship itself is the main stabilizer and driver of change. The following three-step approach is a common format for trauma therapy across various modalities.
1. Safety and Stabilization: The therapeutic relationship is developed and you learn emotional regulation skills.
2. Trauma Processing: There is remembrance, mourning , and processing of the events. We take things at a pace that honors your needs.
3. Reconnection and Integration: You start re-establishing connections with yourself and others. Your traumatic experiences no longer define you, but are integrated as part of your story
